 Kamal das`s(1934)  maiden name was madavikutty.she was born at punnayurkulam in malabar in kerala in 1934.
she won the sathitya akademi award in 1986 for her poetical works. 
she had many labels attached to her because of her radical approach,modernist stance,confessional tone,carnal imagery,etc.
In fact all these have come under critical attack.
she condemns hypocrisy in every walk of life .
